A Great Day in New Waters

Last week we got a bonus fishing day while attending a granddaughter's college graduation, University of North Carolina, Wilmington, NC. Fishing with Capt. Robert Schoonmaker on the Carolina Explorer we found abundant Spanish mackerel and cooperative bonito 1-2 miles outsideCarolina Beach, as well as a couple short black drum inside the Cape Fear Rivercut. It was a great day for all – Dick, sons Rick, Scott, Doug and young Matt (special friend of another granddaughter), who of course, as the rookie was high hook for the day. P. S. We did make it to all the graduation ceremonies and most of the parties after!
