Got into the rips at Bearses Shoal (off Monomoy, Chatham, MA) with son Doug and grandsons John on the left and Ryan on the right, Saturday morning 8/8/15. Sharp-eyed John spotted working birds, we ran over and caught the rip – monster blues feeding in the top 3 feet, you could see them ghosting and breaking the water. Landed five in an hour, smallest 12 lbs. and largest close to 17 lbs. Wiggler jointed needlefish (5.5", 1 oz., pink), Scooter floating popper (4", ¾ oz., white/red), Bunky darting swimmer (4", 1 oz, silver/black) did the trick.
